yet another random reload demo ... let me guess, reload beats the crap out of the "famous au-player" jiggerwop in three straight? i'm already dancing enthusiastically in suspension to watch these matches ... not.

but why? reload is such a good player why is the demos so utterly boring? well this is why: currently, reload enjoys the luxury of knowing that every opponent that he faces will either be:

A) a total fanboy who screams for domination even during prewar ...

.. or B) a "famous au-player" who has tried all his life to emulate reloads style, only he hasn't got reloads natural skills.

seriously though, it would be nice to see some REAL - tightly contended - matches featuring reload. noone knows how he would react under pressure (say, facing a player who shafts 40-50% like inter or puts some serious camp down on dm2 like avenger. my guess is that reload would have to redefine his style if he were to win competitive matches against players that are used to fighting on the lamest battlefield on earth (= europe).

he's obviously got the skills, so i'm not saying he would do poorly - just that his opponents and the demos they keep posting of themselves getting their asses full of him tend to be quite boring (like locktar vs babel x 13 on dm2 also tends to be boring or even reppie vs razor on aero/dm4 is boring - we all know the outcome and that neither player is any serious about winning).

watch the insane-reppie PRAC demos from earlier this week and compare ... two high-skilled players both wanting the win instead of one high-skill player and his fanboy creaming it out...

in case someone hasn't noticed it yet - quakeworld 1on1 is a TWO PLAYER game.

this said - we have to arrange some serious duel-competition with prize-money so we can see the awesome matches that would result from it. i'm pretty sure a lot of people would chip-in just to see reload vs reppie, griffin vs inter and so on.

peace and so forth

(btw: have any of you aussies ever considered doing something about steve irwin? since he has made a cliqchue out of your entire nation I think it would be in your best interest take some kind of action..)

#2 except for a few things, I agree with you.

The real problem, as you've mentioned
are the little 12 year old fanboys out there.
They make people like reload having to play
under some fake nick in order to have some fun.

If they don't fakenick that what usually happen:
the little kid enters the server, type cmd dlist,
get the demos and post them here. So far so good,
since, I have no problem watching prac matches.
The is that the little kid usually posts something
like: "suck it down eurotrash" togheter with the
demo and then the little kids from europe come
here and start responding to the provocation...

Damn telettubie generation...

Damn if only the Euros knew how far reload as come since he last played. Fact is the euros don't realise the experience and talent reload actually has. Reload has been playing QW since the days when Reppie and co were playing with their mothers nipples.

Sure reload is a huge talent above the rest in AU, but this is not because the rest are bad. Sting for example is a fantastic player. The same with the likes of DarkOne, Mortuary and on his good days, Venom.

Yet re still manages to be a cut above the rest.

Reloads main weapon is his mind. No one in the QW scene has the ability to think quicker and more cunning than Reload. Re also has fantastic aim and prediction skills. But the main thing reload is calmness. From witnessing him play at numerous high level LANS, reload is so cool and collected when he plays and he handles pressure better than anyone. Even in finals when is down frags to the other player.

This combination is what no Euro player has. ANd to top it all off, Reload has one numerous competitions both nationally and internationallly, (undefeated on DM2 in Sweden), and THIS is something that no euro can claim to have done. Reloads experience will own over any of dag, reppie or griffin who are relative NOOBS.

Where the fuck are you from? USA? With a comment like the above you'd have to be a stupid american as americans are globally considered unanimously as the dumbest most ignorant

retarded species of humans to ever grace the earth.

They even elected George Bush hahahahahahahahahahahahah GO USA!!!

George Bush went to both Yale and Harvard University and actually started his own oil company
What did you do?
Absolutely nothing.

Not to mentioned, reload actually lost when he was at euro playing some tourney against some no namer.

Do you really THINK that reload evolves every day but the euros dont'? You are pathetic.

omg this is starting up for a long flamewar with the usual reload stuff AND then top that with george bush stuff! :)

i think it seems like it?s mostly the usual 10 people or something who is going on and on about this stupid argument..

does reload care? does dag reppie or griffin care? probably not,
if they ever met in LAN they would just simply play, have some fun, have respect for each other, and the best player would win and then shake hands or something. and without all the bullshit, and until then nothing can be proved, and that he won dm2 in TGI doesnt mean anything, if you actually are so stubborn with that "fact" over and over again, that means you should also think that he would pretty much get raped on the other maps today, since he was raped at those maps in TGI right?.. dont u see how stupid it sounds? :)

razor has a good point.
BIG DEAL if he is the best on dm2, he would get raped on all the other maps.
You cant consider your self the better player if you are just a one map wonder.
Besides, the competition over here at Europe is much more intense than over there at Australia.
Reload only looks good because he beats mediocre players. We shall see how good he shines when he goes head to head with players that are the same skills if not better.
And from what i have heard, Aussie players play +forward most of the time and will whine if the other is playing cs.
no skills to take out a defensive player? no wonder european players are better.

Reload would probably fall in the category of where Paradoks used to be in when he was undefeated on dm6. But of course back then, he still isnt considered the best player even though he was a one map wonder just like Reload.
Catch my drift?

Australian ex-pat, you are quite idiotic to mention the common American's ignorance in a Euro vs Aus flame war.

Besides, not all Americans are fat and stupid.

Back on topic, Reload is a great player but if he played like this against Dag, Griffin, Reppie or even Insane, he would probably be spammed at every corner while rounding it. I hate to admit it, but CS style does work in QW at the highest level.

Anti-American Semitism makes no sense if you're a fan of Quake since it was the Americans who made Quake :p

American John Carmack is ill matched programming wise through-out the world and his ability to solve graphical mathmatical problems is a big reason graphics in games has evolved to the degree seen now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carmack

Usually when people call Americans stupid it is the culture they are referring to. They think Americans lack morals and live in a highly competitive society based on commercialism. While this may be mostly true this is has nothing to do with IQ or the ability to perform. Infact, living in a competitive environment is more likely to aid in ones ability to perform.

While you can dig up statistics that show a decline in students scores in math in the US (as well as other countries) this likely does not directly relate to the students ability to learn math. Technological revolutions (gaming systems, online gaming, portable games / dvd and music players) is more likely distracting students from their studies. The competitive low pricing and accessibility makes it very easy for young people to get their hands on these devices in the US. Think about how many man hours people spend playing online games alone to realize how much time people are spending with electronic handhelds. Then you still have to slot in hanging out with friends, family, sports, g/f, movies, TV, extra-curricular lessons, etc, etc.

This is not a biased observation on my part as I come from Europe. It is from living here that I can say this.

how is it fucked? One shot flinch you are a fool. Its got nothing to do with education, but everything to do with their knowledge, respect and understanding of the rest of the world.

1) The most poorly travelled people in the world. Their knowledge and respect of others cultures is fucking ZERO

2) They are number one in the world because they screw every fucking country up the ass. They attack the middle east, they kill and RAPE the vietnamese, they BOMB the fucking JAPS, they SLAVE the blacks, they STEAL the oil, they CORRUPT the middle east, they consume up to 40% of the worlds resources when they have less than 5% of the worlds population, they SLAVE LABOUR the indian and pakistanis for 0.50c per day, they attack the middle east for thread of nuclear weapons (hahaha what a joke) yet allow North Korea, Israel and India to to continue with their nuclear production (surprise! No oil in those countries, and to top it all off, they elect a fucking ignorant, culturally insensitive, hypocritical monkey called George Bush.

And there is your reason why they are........ 'number 1'.

Arguing about Countries affairs along with their reasons and motives is up for speculation. All countries have their baggage. My post had nothing to do with how world leaders conduct their affairs. My response was about the body of people who make up the US, not the leaders running. It was namely in response to this comment:

"Where the fuck are you from? USA? With a comment like the above you'd have to be a stupid american as americans are globally considered unanimously as the dumbest most ignorant retarded species of humans to ever grace the earth."

"My post had nothing to do with how world leaders conduct their affairs."

Yes my friend, its called an election. Your leaders dont just magically appear out of thin air.

For the record, Americans in general are very friendly nice people. They are just ignorant in the true definition of the word - they have NOT A CLUE about life outside of their own borders and are widely considered the laughing stock of the human race when they visit Europe, Asia, Australia or Africa.

My comment was in response more so to #28. You are clearly american oneshot, and your clearly not dumb, but your arrogance is very representative of the general american people.

For example - looking at your past posts, you will always have to have the last word. Even if it becomes a 500 post argument. Its not over, until YOU have spoken the last word, which will be clearly evident in a matter of minutes...yet again.

It's not like our elected leaders are always what they are cracked up to seem to be. Many tyrants and dictators promised new hope and lied their way into the hearts of people merely looking for opportunities and peace. It happens all over the world all over the time. As for figure-heads and politics, don't even pretend to know what really goes on behind the scenes. As for electing George W. Bush, this was not a "bad" choice on the surface. A supposed god fearing educated man, whose dad an ex-president had all the trademarks of being a leader. After the Iraq war his re-election into 4 more years of office is more questionable. There's a lot of unanswered questions and some deduce that the polls may have been tampered with.

My point is you can't judge the quality of the people entirely by their leaders.

When you're the worlds super-power a lot of people are going to dislike you just on the grounds that you're stronger, more free, and have more resources.

The US takes pre-emptive action because it's predicted that in the next 10 years either China or India will be the next world super-power. Such an idea would not sit well with any country in power, and I'm sure your Australian leaders would face the same dilema's. When you're not in power it's easy to point fingers at the guy at the top and tell them all the things they're doing wrong. Once in power any country would come to realize it's not so easy being at the top. You have to face and ward off jealousy, antogonism, intensive critisms from all sides.

My point here is sometimes the actions you're basing your assumptions off of from today, are preemptive decisions that a country makes, thinking 10 years ahead.

You judge me because I love to debate and engage myself in carrying forth conversation but your obvious distain for other countries, and racial intolerance speaks far more volumes about your own personality.

Traxler: Really, huh, I didn't know you felt that way ;(

hemlich: Maybe it's not an American dilemma but a human dilemma. The more comfort humans have the less concerned they are with strife. There's a large number of people in general who tend to just want to block out anything painful or hint of it who are American's, non-american. The same type of people seem to be quite happy living in their own little worlds finding romance, maybe a house and living peacefully in their own little nook. I would say this is a human affair and not limited to just Americans.

Also consider that the media controls the way a nation thinks. The government in the US spends an enourmous amount of energy controlling the media. This is quite obvious. Is it right or is it wrong they do that? It's just like the question everyone asks, If aliens inhabited the earth and it was top secret, should the government release that information and cause the entire nation to go into chaos or should they keep that information sensitive and keep the people calm?

Unless you play an active role in government and really know what's at stake it's really difficult to know how to assess a situation. Everyone has an opinion, but few people have any solid answers.
