Nice games. LocKtar demonstrates a new playing style which I like to call 'QuakeWorld 2.0'. The essence is the simple rule that the GL replaces RL. Also, DM2 duels are all about controlling the lower nails.

I've seen a huge increase in gl usage in demos recently, and I think in a few years time we'll see the gl emerge as *the* weapon to use in close combat situations. LocKtar is the current gl pioneer. I'm not sure about his collect-the-nails tactic though; his tactics are clearly too complex for my simple mind to comprehend at this moment.

i doubt gl will be "the" weapon (although it is the most effective once mastered if you have an armor coming up)

its just theres more fun in mastering it once u are really good with rl/lg imho :)

Yeah, he's just maxing out his nail count so he doesn't have to be worried about being detected.

As for giving version numbers to QW skill progressions, we'd be at least at Quakeworld 5.0 or 6.0 by now. Speed jumps and bunny hopping alone would count as at least one 'major' increment in version counting.

Ah. Thanks for the analysis phil :) I wasn't being completely serious last night; just noting that there's still things for me to learn at least.

A few spots for this are in dm6. Collecting nails so you can be silent by red armor. Collecting sg shells so you can be silent sneaking up on green armor.

#8, or just dont pick them up. at dm2 u have to pick the nails up to be able to sneak to ra-mega button silently.

Same applies on DM3 - collect shells & nails so you can sneak up the RA tunnel :)
