I for one am very impressed by your map. I can tell a lot of hard work and thought went into it. The critisms by def and cyan for the RL placement are probably just honest reactions. If you really want to create a successful level design it's best if you have as many top players play-test it as much possible before releasing the final version.

Each phase of the design development should have a period of playtesting which is conducted primarily by the higher echelon of qw community. The weapon/health/ammo/powerup phase being the final phase and one of the most rigorous as it is key to map balance.

oneshotflinch,

thanks for the comment... i did indeed have a lot of very intense playtesting for about 2 months last summer, and i got the thumbs up from alot of top players, who actually had input into the design (see the map .txt for more info).

as it stands, if there is demand for an updated/improved version, then i am willing to accomodate those players who can offer honest criticisms without also shooting down my work.

slip duels - "Where a you??? I'm coming..." :)
slip is ideal for 2x2 and maybe 4x4 or cs duels ;) imho it's too big for duels.

imho it is not very becoming of players who have played this game for years and years to judge a map based on the merit of a couple week's worth of play

on the other hand, putting a super-fresh map into a tournament is also questionable -- and from the start it was labeled as a "wildcard" map.

i'm sure some of you think you have figured out this map 100% and have a foolproof rebuttal on why it absolutely sucks. but think back to years and years ago when you thought the same about dm4 or dm2 or dm6
